Part of working in the real estate industry is understanding the important role that developing relationships play in being successful. From the time that Martin and I took over The Real Estate Shoppe, Inc. we have had a single philosophy: our job is to build and maintain relationships, not because that’s a key to being successful (it is), but because it’s the right thing to do. Whether it’s building relationships with new clients by welcoming them to the community or joining community organizations, we believe that it’s important to make people feel welcome feel welcome in our community to move our community positively forward.
Coldwell Banker is filled with agents who have been active in state and local organizations. We have people who are active in their church, active in the Kansas Farm Bureau, work with the Salvation Army, and various other organizations that play a role in making Garden City a better place to live. Their experience has bled over into the way they work with their clients. They take a genuine interest in the people they work with.
Our agents understand they are the first person people meet when they come into our community. Anyone who’s ever worked in real estate will tell you that people will ask “How many schools in USD 457?”, “How many parks are in town?”, “Where are the best places to eat?”, and other similar questions that our agents are trained to have the answers to. But we don’t stop with answers to those questions. Agents at the The Real Estate Shoppe, Inc. are trained to provide our clients options. Whether it’s schools or financing, we make sure that we find out what our customer’s/client’s needs are so that they can serve as a resource for people who are going through one of the most stressful times they will ever face. If all goes according to plan, then our agents have not only served as a valuable resource for new members of our community, but they have made a friend in the process.
Again, we build relationships not because it will make our business successful, but because it’s the right thing to do. It’s what we do. It’s who we are.
